Another improvement for the website www.cs-cart.com. Along with the new look-n-feel introduced earlier this month, the website now features a live chat that you can use to contact our customer relations team directly and get answers to your quick questions that may arise while you’re browsing through the website. Simply click the bar docked at the bottom of your web browser and start chatting! The chat is available from 4 am till 4 pm GMT (Monday – Friday).

Our reps will answer your general questions about the software (if you’re considering CS-Cart as a possible solution for your business) and the services we provide, as well as they will advise you on our programs and initiatives. The live chat is not intended for posting tech support requests, discussing your custom development projects, negotiating partnership details, or any other type of questions that may require additional investigation or assistance/participation of our engineers or company management – instead, please use the special contact form or post to our Customer Help Desk, if you’re a registered CS-Cart user.
How come you don’t use your own live chat module?
Hi Wei,
Thank you for the question. Our own live chat module undergoes testing now, and you’re also welcome to download it from the File Area section of your personal Help Desk account and participate in the testing. As soon as a stable version of Live Help is released, we will certainly use it on cs-cart.com.
And why you do not prefer to release the newest cs-cart version before release useless things for still customers!???
We released a new CS-Cart version (2.0.15) a month ago. The next CS-Cart branch 2.1 is under development now. The release is scheduled for the end of this summer.
Pardon me but till this day cs-cart has not a single stable final version product
Homer,
From our point of view, the current CS-Cart branch 2.0.x is a stable one. And it is used by thousands of successful merchants as a reliable platform for their web stores.
I believe, you may refer to a number of bugs that naturally exist in every complex software, including CS-Cart. If so, none of the known bugs is critical, and every bug that we find is fixed in a new software release. Besides, if you find a bug in your copy of CS-Cart and you cannot wait until it is fixed in the next release, you’re welcome to submit a request to our support team, and they will fix the bug for free.
Please don’t misunderstand me, I do not justify the presence of certain bugs in the software, but it is something that you cannot avoid when developing a complex system. We immediately fix the bugs that we find and that our customers notify us about through the public bug tracking system. And we do everything to fix existing bugs and reduce the possibility of new bugs in order to improve the stability of CS-Cart.
I think every software must have some sort of point where developer needs no more excuses for bugs and would give guaranty for its software. Please understand that we are talking about live stores here not beta testing playground on localhost.
“it is something that you cannot avoid when developing a complex system”
I know but why should I pay now? Cart version 2.014, reported bugs

Unfortunately my license is over now free upgrades not available anymore.
“And it is used by thousands of successful merchants as a reliable platform for their web stores.” Yes I am one of them, cart was not stable or final at purchase time, now still isint + I must pay to upgrade.
Homer,
And do you know which is the point to consider a software stable? I guess, there cannot be the only true answer here. So let’s refer to Wikipedia as the most readily accessible and generally accepted source of information. The article “Software release life cycle” says: “A live release is considered to be very stable and relatively bug-free with a quality suitable for wide distribution and use by end users.”
CS-Cart is ready for use by end users for their live stores, and it is really stable. Most of the issues that you refer to do not affect the proper operation of the software for most users. And if you do have bugs in your copy of CS-Cart, you must not necessarily upgrade it, instead, I suggest you submit a request to our support team, and they will fix the bugs for free. In order to submit a request, please use your account in our Customer Help Desk system ( http://helpdesk.cs-cart.com/ ).
I must agree with both the developer and with Homer. I was in the same situation as Homer as the 1.0 releases have always been unstable. 2.0 is better but has issues. Developer loses this one. But, homer is right as I was feeling the same way until 2.014. Stuck with a buggy version and had to paid to upgrade to a buggier version. I also disagree with the developer that nothing critical was buggy. Google check out never worked right and the drag and drop version diddn’t work until recently just to name two of many. Stuff would disappear. Homer wins. But, in the end, I have to say that 2.0 is headed in the right direction and I see it becoming more stable. I think the support side could be a better but it’s not bad. If it wasn’t for the active user community we have, I would be gone. Jobsales – whom ever he is always out there and super helpful. Community wins. Overall, I could recommend 2.014 and beyond. Before that, many of us left because you had to pay to upgrade to a buggier version. That didn’t seem fair. I’m very concerned about the 2.1 since it appears to be a big release. I will be cautiously waiting for other to try it out going forward. I no longer have the time to fix all the issue. Although the back up/restore routine cscart has is outstanding!

Not only google checkout. PayPal express checkout has problems in 14 & 15, only manual fix can be applied, but why should someone look for solution for brand new out of the box paid cart software?
“If it wasn’t for the active user community we have, I would be gone.” agree 110%
“Stuck with a buggy version and had to paid to upgrade to a buggier version.” my free upgrades have ended on this buggier version and this orange popup upgrade reminder angers me.
“I think the support side could be a better but it’s not bad.” worst part is developers with every new upgrade change too many things and this causes mod developers too much work keeping up. It looks like this is done on purpose so customers apply ONLY to cs-cart for small or large cart mods. No wonder why, even simplest mods starts from 400 – 500$
Homer and Aj,
Thank you for all your comments. We will certainly take them into consideration. Yet, this blog post is about the live chat at the website cs-cart.com, and I suggest us move all discussions that do not revolve around the topic of this post to Community Forums. The Forums are regularly monitored by the company management and the architect team, so you can get their competent answer to your questions about the software and our policies there.
There software has been very stable with only a few minor issues, I have also found the support to be good when a issue is found and it being resolved in an acceptable time frame. At the end of the day homer, there’s no software better for the price, and not many that give you full access to source code any more. I have been using cs-cart for well over a year now with some modifications. I believe as a result we have increased our revenue and reduced the time taken to bill clients for products and services. Keep up the great work.
