By Konstantin Molchanov (CS-Cart team), Wednesday, September 28th, 2011 in CS-Cart releases

Hi!

Today we’ve released CS-Cart 2.2.3. This is a minor release and mostly provides bug fixes.

Still, there is a number of new features:

  • the new Google Export add-on;
  • the Sort by field in the products search form in the admin panel;
  • the Norwegian language pack;
  • several small improvements;

The most significant addition is the Google Export module. It has been specially developed  to fit the the changes made to Google Product Search feed specification and policies.

You can see the full change log as well as discuss the new release in the thread on our forum.

Upgrade

As usual, you can download a distribution package of the latest CS-Cart at your personal Help Desk account. Please, mind that the upgrade may not be available in your CS-Cart admin panel for up to 48 hours.

We are looking forward to getting your feedback and ideas on the CS-Cart community forum and Idea tracker, and all found bugs on the bug tracker.

Multi-Store Edition hits beta

By Konstantin Molchanov (CS-Cart team), Thursday, September 15th, 2011 in CS-Cart releases, News and announcements

Hello everybody!

Having an online store is nice, isn’t it? Well, having several ones must be even better! But to control several shops one needs a powerful tool. And today we are very proud to present such a tool — CS-Cart Multi-Store Edition. It’s only in beta yet, but it already can do a lot. Let’s give it a glance.

One back-end to rule them all

The main purpose of this edition is to give its owner an opportunity to manage several online stores from one control panel. The stores may or may not be connected to each other. We wanted to give the freedom of the choice to the store administrator, therefore the Multi-Store Edition is enriched with a variety of settings both for every particular storefront involved and for general management.

For example, one can give a totally different set of goods to every store, yet being able to share items between stores without restriction. And even for the shared items one can set different prices and descriptions on every particular storefront. One can also share customers between the storefronts or, on the contrary, separate them or even restrict their access to some storefronts independently from the others.

Appearance of every storefront can be configured separately. This includes design, blocks placement, sitemaps, menus — literally everything. You can also set regions where a particular storefront can be viewed from. The storefronts can be accessed both by different domain names and subdirectories on the same domain. All the domains just have to point to the same server where the CS-Cart instance is installed.
