What is the cost of addictional licences? and is any discount by buying now? looking at 50 off

    • Hello Alan,

An additional CS-Cart Ultimate license pack (1 core and 2 domain licenses) will cost $590 (retail price after the final release), so the discount will be $60. Compare it with the current pre-sale price and don’t miss the chance ;)

  2. Dezigner says:

So this means if I have bought 5 licenses earlier of CSC PE, i need to buy 1 core license + 3 more to run CSC UE for all 5 shops?
    Let’s count:
    5 CSC PE x 235 = 1175
    1 CSC UE + 3 Domain Licenses = 550 + (3×195) = 1135
Totaly for users who run 5 shops and want to use CSC UE all shops cost = 2310

I agree to pay as a new customer 1135 dollars.. but for existing custumers it’s just nor fair …

    • Hi,

The arithmetics may seem scary, but you actually won’t have to purchase a full Ultimate license with 3 additional domain ones to switch from Professional to Ultimate.

You can just upgrade one of your Pro licenses to Ultimate (that will cost you less than $495, the exact price to be announced soon) and exchange the rest of the licenses to Ultimate domain ones without any extra payments. Note that you will have 6 available storefronts in total: 2 that come with a core license and 4 exchanged ones.

      • giorgos says:

so , you mean that the cost to exchange a current/existing domain/site to Ultimate domain is ZERO , in other words witout any cost..Correct???And something else :
For example , if you have 2 stores that are included in the ultimate edition’s cost and you want to create other three stores , you need to pay more 3 x $195 ???
So finally if you want to have 6 stores you pay
        550 + 4 x 195 = 1330 ???
        Thanks

        • Hello,
          Yes this is correct.
The cost of exchanging a Professional license to an Ultimate storefront (i.e. domain) license is $0.
The price you calculated is correct if you pre-order an Ultimate license pack for $550.
Otherwise, if you purchase a license pack for the full retail price of $650 when CS-Cart Ultimate is released, you will pay 650 + 4 x 195 = $1430.

I agree with Dezigner, price not fair for existing customers. A discount should be provided…

    Hi Guys,

Been waiting for the cs cart ultimate – great!!

My situation: I have recently migrated my existing website http://www.chrysalini.com.au to the jewellery-bridal.com.au during the trial period and have made changes to the template (12 leaves etc) . I was about to purchase the licence today for the cs cart but now i need the cs cart ultimate as i have two store front – one for retail and one for wholesale.

please advise what are my options. – really don’t want to pay twice – cs cart and then pay cs cart ultimate

    Regards,
    Orlando

    • Hi Orlando,

The best option for you is to pre-order Ultimate.
Firstly, you will have your two storefronts available right out of the box.
Secondly, it’s a good way to save money: the special discount price is considerably lower that the retail one.

If you have an urgent matter, you can purchase 2 Pro license now and when Ultimate is released upgrade one of them for an additional fee (that will be announced later, but anyway lower than $495). The other one will be able to be exchanged to an Ultimate Domain license for free. Pay attention that in this case you will get 3 storefronts instead of 2, because an Ultimate Core license is bundled with two storefronts.

I hope the answer was helpful. If you have any further questions, ask right away.

  5. Dezigner says:

    Hi,

what about upgrades, I have read that after upgrading CSC UE all shops will be upgraded as well, that seems to be cool feature, but there is one “but” …
What about customized templates? Have you solved this problem in UE?
For example, I’ve got 5 shops and all of them are using custom templates, after upgrade will I need to solve issues to redesign all templates. This isn’t best solution, as it will take one week to solve all issues for all shops, that means 7 days our clients won’t be able to shop at our store’s, we will lose a lot of clients and money…

    • Hello,

      Thanks for the good question!
Post-upgrade conflict resolving is necessary for stable store functioning and should be performed on every custom template.
But if some of your (or all) storefronts share the same template, you can fix it once and than just copy-and-paste it, so you won’t have to do the same work again.

  6. Bill says:

Is it in any way possible to host each site of a different server and still access everything from one admin panel?

Sorry if this is a stupid question but I prefer to have sites spread on different servers so if the server goes out all my websites are not affected.

  7. Sid Siddiqi says:

What is the difference between CS-CART Multi-Vendor and CS-CART Ultimate?

    • Hello Sid,

Basically what Multi-Vendor does is it gives you an opportunity to let multiple vendors host their products in your storefront. It provides each vendor with their own admin panel. So, the approach here is “One storefront – many admin panels”. It also smartly shares the profit between the respective vendors and isolates vendors from each other.

Whereas CS-Cart Ultimate is meant to make it work like “Many storefronts – one admin panel”: it allows you to control multiple storefronts via one backend (i.e. admin panel). With Ultimate Edition you’ll be able to share customers, products and product categories among your storefronts.

I hope the answer was clear enough, but if you need any further help, don’t hesitate to ask.

  8. albahrain says:

i hope you be able to answer the below questions:

1- i have right now cs cart pro if i will take ultimate edition will it be less the $495 ? or shall i buy cs cart ultimate edition with $495 and then exchange my cs cart pro with domain license ?

2- in future will you update cs cart ultimate edition to be handle many admins panels ? we need to know your plans !!

    • Hello,

      1. You have an opportunity to pre-order a Pro-to-Ultimate upgrade to exchange your CS-Cart Professional license to an Ultimate one as soon as it’s released. That will cost you only $300.

      2. Yes we plan to get started with the multi-store version of CS-Cart Multi-Vendor sometime in the future. This edition would give vendors an ability to sell their products through their own storefronts. But there are no other details on this matter yet.

      • Denis says:

Hello, Kostya. If you are interested, I’ve found one way to make multiple admin areas and one “general” store. It’s done by 80% (Using beta ver), another 20% will buy from your custom dev, cause my brains are “melted” already…

  9. grabbags says:

I have an existing PRO VERSION website. Before I am ready to migrate into 1 backend, would the license key(s) for 2 domains from CS-Cart Ultimate works on the PRO version? How difficult to upgrade from PRO to ULTIMATE?

    • Hi,
Thank you for the good question. No, unfortunately, a CS-Cart Ultimate license key cannot be used for CS-Cart Professional software. If you decide to pre-order a Pro-to-Ultimate license upgrade now, your existing CS-Cart Professional license will remain unchanged until the CS-Cart Ultimate final release (so, you will be able to continue using it till the release date). An additional domain license, that you will get as a part of the upgrade, gives the right only to create another storefront in your future CS-Cart Ultimate installation and it is not compatible with CS-Cart Professional.
Right after we release CS-Cart Ultimate your current Professional installation will be converted to an Ultimate storefront one, so after that you will have to move data from your CS-Cart Professional installation to a CS-Cart Ultimate one and delete CS-Cart Professional from your server.
Migrating from CS-Cart Professional to Ultimate Edition should be basically easy. It will be possible to import data from CS-Cart Professional to an Ultimate installation via a special tool. Also, we might probably provide an update pack to upgrade a CS-Cart Professional installation to an Ultimate one via the administration panel.

      • grabbags says:

Well, I won’t upgrade at the time it releases. Most of the time, there are many bugs at the beginning. The idea is good, however, if I cannot merge data from existing PRO version into 1+1 Ultimate … it may not be a good move.

        • Hi,

The idea is good, however, if I cannot merge data from existing PRO version into 1+1 Ultimate … it may not be a good move.

I see your point here. Fortunately, there’s nothing to apprehend. Upgrading from Pro to Ultimate will actually merge your existing data into the new edition: existing Pro license is substituted with a new domain license and the existing Pro storefront is considered a domain storefront for the new Ultimate bundle.

I hope the answer was helpful. Ask any further questions if you have any!

Does Ultimate support multiple domains with multiple IP-adresses like WordPress MU?

For example we want to host 5 websites on the same platform but we want 5 unique IP-numbers on each website, mainly for SSL and SEO purposes.

    Can this be done?

  11. Vikas Sharma says:

    Hello,

I was searching for a multi store, one admin solution and happened to find CS-Cart a close match. Do let me know if there is a common payment gateway for all the different domains we have as it is not feasible or possible to get different payment gateway accounts for each domain in India.

Secondly, I already have 3 carts (oscmax) running which I want to now bring under one admin. Is it possible to easily transfer data from OSC to CS-cart?

Third, I intent to further expand to a large number of domains. is there a discount if one were to have more than say 10 storefronts? Also, is there a limit to the number of stores that can be opened on different domains?

Please let me know asap as I would like to pre-order if it suits my requirement.
    Thank you!

    • Hello Vikas,

Thanks for the great questions! It’s my pleasure to answer them.

Firstly, yes it is possible to share the same payment gateway to all the storefronts you have. Pay attention that some payment gateways have the One client – one domain policy. If the gateway you use allows multi-domain, CS-Cart has no problem with it either.

Answering your second question I’d like to mention the Cart2Cart service. They support osCMax to CS-Cart migration, so it should really be no big difficulty.

Third, the number of storefronts that you can open on different domains under the same Ultimate back-end is unlimited. The quantity discounts may will be announced later, after the Ultimate release, so keep up with the news.

If you have any further questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

  12. Micky says:

I understand the features of Ultimate, as two store fronts (2 domains) and one admin.

But i cant find info if the two storefronts share the same database.

Example, if customer register and purchase from store1, will he be able to login to store2 with same account?
If, yes would the customer be able to see same order history from both stores?

    • Denis says:

as I look thru beta, customers sharing are aviable, but for searching orders there need some mods

    • Hi Micky,

Yes customer sharing will be available in CS-Cart Ultimate (as well as product and categories sharing). As you said a customer will be able to register only once and use the same account with all other storefronts (if customer sharing is enabled via the admin panel, of course).

A customer will see separate order histories in different storefronts, though the full order history for a particular customer will be available for the admin in the administrator area.
For example, when logged in to store1 a customer will be able to see the order history for this particular storefront only, even though he or she can use the same data to login to store2.

I hope I answered your question. If you still have anything to ask, I’m happy to help.

  13. John says:

    Hello,

Do you have a list of features for the Ultimate version?
    Thanks!

    • Hi John,

The major difference between Ultimate and other CS-Cart editions is that it allows to easily manage multiple storefronts from one admin panel, as well as share data between the storefronts.
You could read more about this edition in one of the previous posts. Ultimate is formerly known as Multi-Store, so do not let the post title confuse you :-)
Licensing and upgrading issues are described in the post called CS-Cart Ultimate Edition: New Details.

I hope the information is helpful. We are happy to answer any questions you might have further.

    When start to count this:

30 days of technical support assistance (recommended for beginners).
80 support credits (What is it?)

    if purchase.

    Aproximate time to final release?

    • Hello Vincent,

Answering your first question: CS-Cart provides either a period- or issue-based support service. So, you may either purchase a certain support period or buy a certain amount of so called support credits — it’s like a special currency in a way. Different issues a valued in different number of credits, you can read more about it on the support page. You are free to choose the system that fits you the best.

The estimated release date for CS-Cart Ultimate is spring 2012. Keep up with the news, we will inform you about any release shifts.

I hope I answered your questions. If there’s anything still not clear, please do ask.

  15. vincent says:

    Thank you for your answer,
I mean that if we pre-order today with assistance,

    • Oh, I see, sorry for misunderstanding.

When you pre-order CS-Cart Ultimate the credits or support period are instantly added to your account and you can begin using them right away.
At the same time, you can freeze your support period if you don’t use it at the moment, and use it anytime later. You can suspend/resume your support subscription once during a subscription period.
The support policy is described in detail on the support page (see the Support periods part in the beginning).

How much strain will CS-Cart Ultimate (1 Core, 3 Storefronts) put under a dedicated server in comparison to 3 independent Professional stores on the same server?

    • Hello,

Deploying CS-Cart Ultimate with 3 storefronts will certainly be easier than installing 3 separate Pro versions.
Firstly, in case of 3 separate Pro installations each of them should have its own database. On the contrary, Ultimate installations requires only one database independently on the storefront number.
Secondly, attaching new Ultimate storefronts to the core will be far easier than installing a new Professional version: you will just have to add and activate a new storefront via the admin panel and configure your server to process the new domain properly.

If you want centralized storefront control, CS-Cart Ultimate is the best option here.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to ask.

  17. Aaron Brockhurst says:

Can it be set up so that each store is seperate to the other stores and one store manager is unable to see another store manager’s data?

    • Hello Aaron,

Yes it will be possible. You’ll be able to assign storefront administrators individually and isolate them form one another.

      • Jurgen says:

If the shops are on separate domains, and the store admins can have access only to their own store control panels, what is then in practical use the difference between that setup, and a bunch of separate Pro stores? I understand with Ultimate they share the same database, but that is of no concern to most store owners.

What if I want to sell webshops to clients, can I use the Ultimate license or should I use separate Pro license? I’m a bit confused here…

        • Hello Jurgen,

The thing is that you can assign an admin for each storefront so that they will not interfere with each other, but at the same time you can as well assign 1 administrator for all storefronts, or 2 admins for 10 storefronts, or even control the whole system on your own.
The administration policy is all up to you, you can configure administrators’ permissions as you like, CS-Cart Ultimate Edition will be very flexible considering this matter.

You could easily sell both Professional and Ultimate storefront licenses, the best option for you depends on what actually you’d like to achieve.

Consider you purchased an Ultimate license pack. This means you have an Ultimate admin license and 2 Ultimate storefront licenses. The admin license gives you the right to include further storefront licenses to the license pack.
Now consider you decide to sell Ultimate storefront licenses within your Ultimate license pack.
This has several great advantages over selling separate CS-Cart Professional licenses:
          - lower price per license ($195 per Ultimate storefront license vs. $295 per Professional license);
          - ability to control all the customers’ storefronts from your Ultimate admin panel;
          - possibility to sell multiple storefront licenses to 1 customer and easily let them administer all their storefronts;

Meanwhile, if your goal is to sell licenses and leave the full control and responsibility to the customer, selling Pro licenses might be more preferable.

          Generally, why not sell both?:-)

  19. Doug says:

If I buy the ultimate cart, how much are the yearly hosting charges?

    • Hello Doug,

The annual hosting charges are set by your hosting company. They normally depend on the quality and quantity of the server(s) you use.
CS-Cart Ultimate Edition requires only 1 server for all its storefronts and the admin panel, so you will have to pay for only 1 server.

Some hosting companies also charge extra for additional IP-addresses, and since each storefront in CS-Cart Ultimate must have its own IP-address, you may will be charged for that too.

You can find the list of our partner hosting companies on our site. There’s also a special free hosting program by SiteGround, which you may find yourself interested in.

If you have anything else to ask, go for it!

    What about performance?
If i understand correctly with ultimate edition there is one Database for all stores. If, for example i have 6 shops with 15.000 products each wouldn’t this create a problem with the performance of the database? (90.000 products)

    • Hi!

Thanks for such a good question.

Say, we have an Ultimate store with 6 storefronts, each having 15,000 products.
Theoretically, the search speed in such storefront should be lower than the one in a standalone Professional store with 15,000 products. This is quiet logical, because the database is bigger.
Our goal is to make that difference as small as possible. Ideally there should not be any performance difference between a Professional store with 15,000 items and an Ultimate storefront of the same capacity.

One should also understand that the size of an Ultimate database for 6 storefronts will be smaller than the total size of 6 Professional databases:
shared data like language variables and shared products are stored only once (instead of 6 times).
This also positively affects the store performance.

There are no testing data available at the moment, though.

If there are any further questions, please ask!

  23. Brian says:

Exporting my product feeds to Google base is extremely important to me. Since the database is being shared, will my product feeds know to use each stores unique URL? If so, how will the google base export manage feeds when products are shared between two stores?

    Thanks

    • Hello Brian!

Thank you for an interesting question.

CS-Cart Ultimate will allow you to export products both from a particular storefront and from all the storefronts at once. Product URLs are assigned differently in each case, I will explain it with an example:

Let you have 2 storefronts A and B on http://www.a.com and http://www.b.com. There are 2 products created in A: Shirt and Hat, and 1 product created in B — Shoes. Let Shirt be also shared from A to B, so it is available in B too.

If you export products from B, they will get unique URLs referring to storefront B domain name: www.b.com/shoes and www.b.com/shirt

On the other hand, exporting products from both storefronts at once will assign each unique URL referring to the storefront where a particular product has been created: www.a.com/shirt, www.a.com/hat and www.b.com/shoes.

I hope the explanation is helpful. In case of any misunderstanding do not hesitate to ask.
