CS-Cart 3.0.3

Greetings!

CS-Cart 3.0.3

Today we introduce to you another regular minor version — CS-Cart 3.0.3.

It’s been about a month since the last CS-Cart minor release, and the time was well-spent on collecting the feedback and intensive bug fixing. All the fixes and improvements are included in this version.

In this release the Store Import add-on add-on functionality has been extended: it is now possible to import a CS-Cart Community 2.2.4-2.2.5 database as a separate storefront in CS-Cart Ultimate 3.0.3. Import of CS-Cart Professional 3.0.3 databases to Ultimate 3.0.3 is also supported.

You can find more information about this and the other changes in CS-Cart editions in this blog post.

Community Edition Discontinued

Starting from this version Community edition is unavailable for download anymore. New CS-Cart Community licenses are no longer issued either.

This is the 1st step of our big plan to simplify CS-Cart product line and make choosing and purchasing CS-Cart licenses easier.

Later we will announce the opportunity to use CS-Cart Ultimate edition on a free basis, as a replacement for CS-Cart Community.

Russian Build

CS-Cart Russian Build has also been upgraded and received some new features (note that some of the sites listed below are available in Russian only):

You are welcome to ask any questions about the new release right here in the comments. Also, we are always open for contact via Twitter and Facebook.

    Where are the release notes?

  2. Craig says:

I have emailed both tech support and custom development team several times about completing the installation for me (i.e copy the old cs cart 2.4.2 onto another new directory then install the new cs cart 3.0.3) to allow me/cs cart to complete the store upgrade. Both teams direct me to the other. Nobody wants to help. Can you please confirm if your standard ‘installation service’ will actually copy my old installation to another directory to allow this? I cannot risk losing my existing store data. I am shocked to find out, that after A MAJOR NEW VERSION RELEASE you have no simple standard service to complete installation and upgrade…hopefully it’s just poor communication and not because it was an oversight….please help!

    • Hello Craig,

I am sorry to hear that our team did not provide you with the best service and I apologize for this. Unfortunately, I cannot find your emails in our Help Desk system, so I will email you to find out the details.

If you need to make a copy of your existing CS-Cart installation and you want CS-Cart team to do it for you, then, yes, you can order our installation service.

Unfortunately, we cannot provide upgrade service at a fixed price, because, if your CS-Cart is not customized, then the upgrade will take you several mouse clicks. But if it is customized (custom design, etc), then, most probably, it will be required to merge your existing source code changes with the new CS-Cart version manually, and of course, nobody can say how long it will take and how much it will cost in advance (without examining the changes).

      I hope it makes sense.

Looks good. Will you be adding more skins to the cart? Currently, there is only 1 theme that comes with the software.

    • Yes, sure. We have already created several additional skins and most probably they will be included in CS-Cart 3.1 release.

      • Tarak says:

when are you expecting 3.1 to be released? Also are there any plans in the future to create an upgrade via the upgrade centre for 2.4 to 3.1?

        • Hello Tarak. Thank you for your questions.

We will do our best to release CS-Cart 3.1 before the end of this year.

We do not currently plan to create a package for upgrading versions 2.2.4/2.2.5 directly to 3.1. It will be required to upgrade such versions to CS-Cart 3.0.2 or 3.0.3 first and then to version 3.1.

  4. Jasmine says:

Waiting patiently for the release of CS-Cart 3.1… :)

  5. Adam says:

I am excited to see this plan. I think you are doing a great job! Keep it up!

    Hi,

When will CS CART update their Roadmap and publish this on the main website?

The request features page has not changed in over a year. Some features say “STARTED” and its been like that for months

What does “STARTED” actually mean on this page – development started or that its on the planning table.

There are a lot of incomplete features and add-ons in beta mode that were suppossed to be part of v3 of CS CART.

It seems most of the development has been focussed on restructuring your product line which you advertise as beneficial for store owners but I can tell you that Store owners want:

    New Features
    Improvements to existing features
    Stability
    Performance

We would like to see new features added to the cart and more enhancements made to the screen and shop design – add more templates for owners to choose from. Drag and drop of the grid system would be nice.

Fully integrated social plugins, social buttons and widgets.

Better email campaign management and HTML email editing of email campaigns which can be automated.

Looking forward to hear your vision for CS cart for 2013 as it seems 2012 is a write off for new features….

Keep up the good work but a lot more can be done for store owners…

Please update the Ideas/Features page so that the community can give you more fresh ideas and existing features can be updated. I would suggest you communicate this if you release votes so that people can go to this page and cast their votes.

I know some CS CART users who have not been to the page in over 2 years as their votes are locked into the TOP features requested by your customrs…..

Twigmo is live and should be completed , not “STARTED” there are 704 votes there that can be better used.

    Thanks

    • Dear John,

Thank you for the feedback, it is highly appreciated!

I fully agree that the UserVoice might need some shaking up, we’ll keep that in mind. If you have any more suggestions regarding our website, its structure or appearance, please share your opinion with us.

Regarding some items you’ve mentioned, I have to say that we are going to present more customer area design templates in the near future, as well as improve the design of the admin area.

Stability and performance improvement is a constant goal for every CS-Cart release, as well as maintaining all the existing features.

Yes, changing the product line has summoned a significant amount of human resources, but we do our best to keep up the good work on all directions.

It is too early now to make predictions on CS-Cart evolution in 2013, but I can tell that we have some really interesting new features coming soon. More information will be disclosed later on, keep up with the blog updates.

Thank you for your cooperation and feedback!
