New Admin Panel in CS-Cart 3.1.1

By Konstantin Molchanov (CS-Cart team), Wednesday, November 28th, 2012 in News and announcements

Good day, folks!

Today, as the next CS-Cart release is on the horizon, I would like to tell you about one of the most noticeable changes to be introduced: the new fully redesigned CS-Cart administration panel.

Look and Feel

Our goal was to improve the usability of the CS-Cart admin area by simplifying the visual style and providing the interface that would be easy for users to familiarize themselves with.

The New Admin Panel Dashboard

In order to achieve this, we used the acclaimed Twitter Bootstrap framework. It has proven to be the right tool for creating the handy and neat interface we wanted.

Settings Wizard

Settings wizard is one of the new features to be introduced in CS-Cart 3.1.1

Thanks to the familiar design elements, the new admin panel is much easier for new users to learn.

The structure of the panel is inherited from the previous version, so experienced users will also not have any trouble adjusting to it. Performing daily administrative operations will be more comfortable.

Behind The Scenes

While working on the new administrator area look, we took the opportunity to revise the technical background as well.

The back-end has been reimplemented using the latest web technologies and standards, such as HTML 5 and CSS 3.

As a result, we have achieved general performance improvement and a tidier source code, which means easier maintenance in the future.

The work is still in progress, and the CS-Cart admin panel still needs some polishing and optimization.

You can try the new admin panel in action online in the Labs on of our website (fill the prompted HTTP authentication dialog with your CS-Cart Forums login and password).

The new admin panel (along with numerous other new features to be announced later) will be included in CS-Cart 3.1.1. Its release date it not yet confirmed, so stay tuned to CS-Cart news on Twitter and Facebook.

Special Offer: Data Migration to CS-Cart Starts from $0

By Konstantin Molchanov (CS-Cart team), Thursday, November 8th, 2012 in Articles, News and announcements

We have some great news!

Today CS-Cart and Cart2Cart launch a special limited offer that will allow all concerned merchants to migrate data to CS-Cart from a different eCommerce platform with a significant discount or even free of charge!

Cart2Cart is a service that allows a user to migrate their categories (with images), products (with attributes and images), customers, orders, currencies, and manufacturers from one shopping cart to CS-Cart automatically.

Cart2Cart currently supports data migration to CS-Cart from the 40 most widely used shopping carts and provides clients with numerous benefits:

  • A secure and accurate migration process. All data is transferred via a secure SSL connection.
  • Automated data migration. It can save weeks of tedious work and allows a user to have their store up and running within a few hours.
  • Migrations are performed using the Amazon EC2 service. This means no delays or data losses during the migration process.
  • The process is quite simple and does not take much time. A step-by-step wizard allows users with minimal experience and training to configure all migration options.

The Offer

First, we have negotiated a special discount for those migrating to CS-Cart via Cart2Cart. Until December 1, 2012, Cart2Cart will give a 30% discount to everybody migrating from one of the supported eCommerce platforms to CS-Cart using the service.

Enter the discount code CS-GOGOGO at the Cart2Cart checkout to get the discount.

The terms of the special offer are:

  • The minimal order total will be $49 after the discount is applied.
  • The discount is not applicable to the additional services (listed in the Additional Options section on this page)
  • This offer cannot be used in conjunction with any other Cart2Cart offer or discount.

Secondly, for those who use the code, we will compensate the cost of the migration service by providing a discount only on the first (!) CS-Cart license purchase.

We will provide a discount of up to $100 for purchasing a CS-Cart Professional, up to $200 for Ultimate, and up to $400 for a Multi-Vendor edition license.

The money back guarantee is not provided for the licenses purchased on the conditions of this offer.

In order to receive a discount, you should contact us no later than December 5, 2012. Your request should contain your Cart2Cart order ID migration number, date, total, and the CS-Cart edition you want to purchase.

Please note that you should contact us before the first CS-Cart license is purchased, otherwise we will not be able to make a discount.

This offer is valid for a limited time only. Do not miss the chance to migrate to CS-Cart and save money!

Twigmo 2.3: Auto Update, Category Descriptions, and More

By Konstantin Molchanov (CS-Cart team), Wednesday, November 7th, 2012 in News and announcements, Twigmo releases

A new Twigmo version has been released today.

Version 2.3 contains some new features, including the long-awaited automatic upgrade feature for the Twigmo add-on for CS-Cart. This means that, after you install this new Twigmo add-on, it can be upgraded in a click in the future — no more server-side file manipulations required. The upgrade tool works separately from the default CS-Cart tool and will automatically download the latest Twigmo add-on from our server and replace the old one, keeping all the settings unchanged. All you need to do is run the process.

Apart from that, Twigmo 2.3 introduces:

  • Category description display
  • ‘Accept Terms and Conditions’ at checkout
  • Minimum product quantity and order amount support
  • Responsive on-screen notifications — the longer the text, the longer it is displayed

Twigmo 2.3 Features

Numerous other improvements are all listed in the changelog.

You can get the new version and read the installation guide using this link. Luckily, this is the last time you need to do that :-)

Help us improve Twigmo by submitting bugs and sharing your ideas.
