By Konstantin Molchanov, Thursday, May 10th, 2012 in CS-Cart releases, News and announcements

Hi,

Twigmo 1.9

Twigmo mobile kit is evolving and hits another release today.

Twigmo 1.9 contains mostly internal changes, but there are some nice additions that will be noticeable by the users:

  • The latest jQueryMobile 1.1.0 is used now making Twigmo Mobile Front-End work faster and smoother;
  • You can now reset your password via Twigmo Add-on right from your CS-Cart admin panel;
  • It is now possible to force Twigmo to switch between mobile and desktop versions using a special URL parameter no matter what operating system and browser are used;

Download and install

Twigmo Add-on is available to download for CS-Cart 2.1.4 and 2.2.x (older versions are not supported). Follow the official guide to download and reinstall the new version of the add-on in your CS-Cart installation.

Note: After the new files are copied to your CS-Cart installation you should go to the Add-ons page in the admin panel to uninstall and install the Twigmo add-on. It is necessary for the update to be applied.

Twigmo 1.9 will be included in CS-Cart 3 Final by default. It will be supported by CS-Cart 3 Professional, Multi-Vendor and Community editions. CS-Cart Ultimate support is to be added later.

We are happy to answer all your questions about Twigmo right here in the comments and on the official Twigmo Facebook page.

Follow Twigmo on Twitter to get the latest service news.

As always, we are keen to know your suggestions and ideas, as well as bug reports to improve Twigmo.

By Konstantin Molchanov, Wednesday, February 15th, 2012 in CS-Cart releases, News and announcements

G’day everybody! And the topic does not lie — the 3rd version of CS-Cart has reached the release candidate stage! Which means that the final release is on its way pretty soon.

New Storefront Design

The release candidate includes all the features that will be present in the final version:

  • Completely new storefront look and feel
  • New 960.gs based layout manager
  • RSS Feed add-on
  • Watermarks add-on
  • Import/export subscribers
  • Refreshed installer
  • Lots of small improvements

Also, CS-Cart 3 RC is already available in Ultimate edition with multi-store functionality. Basically this is the final version, the work to be done further is mostly bug fixing and flaw polishing.

Try

You can try CS-Cart 3 RC in action in 3 demo stores:

Download

The RC download links are available in this thread on our forum. You should be registered and logged in to be able to access this page and download the installation package. There will be several RC updates in the future, which all will be available for download in the same thread. Keep up with the news in our Twitter and Facebook to know when the latest RC update is on.

CS-Cart 3 Ultimate Edition configuring is explained in detail in the configuration guide.

The official CS-Cart 3 RC Reference Guide is also very helpful. This is still a work in progress so some articles can be not finished.

Please, remember that this is not the final release and the RC is not supposed to be installed on live stores.

Feedback

The release candidate may contain bugs. We do our best to find and fix them all, but the bug reports from the users are priceless: they usually reveal some things we couldn’t've even thought about.

The best place to post any bug reports is our special bug tracker. Use your regular forum login data to sign in.

We are happy to get any feedback in Twitter and Facebook too, as well as on our forum.

Good luck trying the new release! Let’s make CS-Cart a better tool together.

UPD: When the final release is out, we will introduce a special script to migrate database from CS-Cart 3 RC RC to the final version.
So you can start filling up the database in the RC — you will be able to transfer it to the final version when it’s released.

Multi-Store Edition hits beta

By Konstantin Molchanov, Thursday, September 15th, 2011 in CS-Cart releases, News and announcements

Hello everybody!

Having an online store is nice, isn’t it? Well, having several ones must be even better! But to control several shops one needs a powerful tool. And today we are very proud to present such a tool — CS-Cart Multi-Store Edition. It’s only in beta yet, but it already can do a lot. Let’s give it a glance.

One back-end to rule them all

The main purpose of this edition is to give its owner an opportunity to manage several online stores from one control panel. The stores may or may not be connected to each other. We wanted to give the freedom of the choice to the store administrator, therefore the Multi-Store Edition is enriched with a variety of settings both for every particular storefront involved and for general management.

For example, one can give a totally different set of goods to every store, yet being able to share items between stores without restriction. And even for the shared items one can set different prices and descriptions on every particular storefront. One can also share customers between the storefronts or, on the contrary, separate them or even restrict their access to some storefronts independently from the others.

Appearance of every storefront can be configured separately. This includes design, blocks placement, sitemaps, menus — literally everything. You can also set regions where a particular storefront can be viewed from. The storefronts can be accessed both by different domain names and subdirectories on the same domain. All the domains just have to point to the same server where the CS-Cart instance is installed.

As you see, the whole thing seems to be quiet nice. You can download the software from your file area or on our website and try by yourself.

You can find a more detailed overview in this thread of our forum.

Please, remember that Multi-Store is still in beta and can be yet used solely for testing and as a features preview. We will be most grateful for your feedback, which we are happy to receive at Facebook, Twitter and Google+. Also, bug reporting helps a lot, please, use our Bug tracker if you encounter any bugs.

Thanks for being with us!
