Twigmo 3.4: Speed Boost, Google Analytics full support and more

By Alex Vinokurov (CS-Cart & Twigmo), Monday, April 28th, 2014 in Twigmo releases

Hello!

Today, our Twigmo team released a new version (3.4) of Twigmo Mobile Storefront with many improvements.

Speed Boost

In new Twigmo 3.4, we dramatically changed the function that loads the content of the mobile store pages. Also, we optimized the JavaScript code as well as improved caching of CSS and JavaScript files.

As a result the loading now takes less time than before and in whole the mobile sites generated by Twigmo 3.4 have become much more optimized for mobile browsers. The Google Page Speed tool now grades our demo mobile site as high as 91 out of 100! For comparison, the mobile sites of Amazon and eBay score 67 and 79 accordingly.

Google Analytics full support

The full support of Google Analytics was the most popular request in Twigmo Idea Tracker. And we added it to Twigmo 3.4! The previous versions of Twigmo supported Google Analytics, but the tool captured only the first page visit (because the further mobile site pages were loaded via AJAX without the whole HTML page reload) and it resulted in misleading bounce rate in the statistics. Now this problem is solved.

New theme: Frushop

Twigmo 3.4 also includes a new theme called Frushop (available on the plan Plus only). Like the other Twigmo themes the new theme can be additionally altered via Twigmo Visual Editor.

You can see it in action on the demo page.

Prices including taxes

Finally, the new release has another long-awaited feature – displaying prices with taxes.

Add-on Upgrade

If you are a Twigmo 3.0 or above user, you will receive a notification about the available add-on upgrade in your CS-Cart admin panel. You can start the upgrade from the Twigmo add-on settings page; the rest is done automatically.

Twigmo 3 is released!

By Alex Vinokurov (CS-Cart & Twigmo), Tuesday, January 14th, 2014 in Twigmo releases

Hello,

Today, we are happy to introduce to you Twigmo 3 release and new Twigmo plans and pricing.

Twigmo 3 is based on AngularJS framework for better performance and faster development in the long run. Also, it includes a powerful visual editor that allows you to customize the mobile store look’n’feel easily and quickly so that it matches your desktop store design.

New plans and pricing

Together with Twigmo 3 release, new plans & pricing have come into effect. The main point is that all Twigmo plans are now no longer product quantity dependent and differ only in features. We believe it is more fair to pay only for the functions you use no matter how many SKUs you have in your product database.

The new Starter free plan is limited to one default theme and a mobile product catalog without checkout (customers are offered to buy a product via desktop checkout). Visual Editor is available on all commercial plans while additional design themes (up to 10 soon) are included in the plan Plus only. Later this year, we plan to offer an option to have your own store application for iOS and Android.

Upgrade

If you are a Twigmo 2.3 or above user, you will receive a notification about the available add-on upgrade in your CS-Cart admin panel. You can start the upgrade from the Twigmo add-on settings page. To upgrade the Twigmo add-on from version 2.2 or earlier, follow the manual upgrade guide.

As soon as all the required files are upgraded in your CS-Cart installation (automatically in Twigmo 2.3+ or manually in the earlier versions), it will be required to connect your CS-Cart store to the Twigmo service once again (under the Twigmo account tab).

After that a special 7-day Twigmo trial period will start during which you should select a new Twigmo plan for your store. This can be done via the new Twigmo Control Panel (click the button Control Panel on the Twigmo 3 add-on settings page in your CS-Cart to be automatically logged in) in which you can also manage all your Twigmo subscriptions, run Visual Editor, edit profile, etc.

If you are currently on a paid Twigmo plan, please connect your store to the Twigmo 3 service and contact us with your store domain name. The further instructions will be provided.

Important: Unfortunately, most custom CSS changes made in Twigmo 2.6 or earlier are incompatible with Twigmo 3 due to its new CSS structure. If you have CSS changes in your mobile site (powered by Twigmo 2.6 or earlier), it will be required to repeat these design changes using Visual Editor (it can be found on the Twigmo 3 add-on settings page in your CS-Cart). The editor also has a text area for entering CSS source code if you need to overwrite some inner CSS classes.

For information: In Twigmo 2.6 and earlier, custom CSS changes are saved in the file ‘custom_[skin_name].css’ in the Twigmo add-on directory. After the upgrade to Twigmo 3 this file can be found under the var/twigmo/3.0/backup_files/ directory of your CS-Cart installation, so that the file content can be used for viewing and repeating the color changes, etc. via Visual Editor.

Attention: Twigmo 2 service shutdown deadline

We announce that Twigmo 2 service will be shutting down on February 17, 2014, so we ask all Twigmo 2 users to upgrade their add-ons to version 3 and connect their stores to Twigmo 3 service before this date. The upgrade takes a minute and fully automatic if you have Twigmo 2.3+, while it may take additional time to transfer existing design changes manually.

Twigmo 2 users who do not upgrade to version 3 will have their mobile sites disabled after February 17, 2014. It means that their visitors will see the desktop site on their mobile devices instead of the mobile site. The Twigmo Admin application for iOS will stop working for Twigmo 2 users too.

Lastly, Twigmo 3 add-on is not available for CS-Cart 2.1.4, only for CS-Cart 2.2.x, 3.x and 4.x.

Support

We have launched a dedicated support portal for Twigmo users that includes bug tracker, idea voting, community forums, etc.

Hello,

Today, we would like to introduce to you the new Twigmo plans & pricing as well as the upcoming Twigmo 3 release.

Twigmo 3 will be based on a new framework (AngularJS) for better performance and faster development in the long run. Also, it will include a powerful visual editor (available on selected plans only) that will allow you to customize the mobile store look’n'feel easily and quickly so that it matches your desktop store design.

Together with the Twigmo 3 release this December in January 2014, the new plans & pricing will come into effect. The main point is that all Twigmo plans will no longer be product quantity dependent and will differ only in features. The new Starter free plan will be limited to one default skin and a mobile product catalog without checkout. In 2014, we will offer the option (see the plan Platinum below) to have your own store application for iOS and Android.

Twigmo 3 Plans & Pricing

The new plans will be applicable to all Twigmo 3 users while Twigmo 2 service will be shut down after January 10 30, 2014. We ask all Twigmo users to upgrade to version 3 after it is released in December January 2014. A release notification will be sent by email, via the CS-Cart admin panel and published in this blog.

The paid plan users will be switched to the plan Plus at no additional charge.

Twigmo 2.6: New Skin, Option Combination Images, and More

By Denis Borisov (CS-Cart), Thursday, September 19th, 2013 in Twigmo releases

Hi,

Today, the Twigmo team is happy to announce the new version of the CS-Cart mobile-friendly kit— Twigmo 2.6.

Twigmo 2.6 includes the new skin (we called it CupCake):

The new skin can be selected on the Twigmo add-on settings page (in the CS-Cart admin panel) after upgrading to version 2.6.

Furthermore, support for the “option combination” feature was added.

This feature enables a store owner to specify a unique image for each product option combination, such as color and size. It is available under Products→[Product name]→Options→Option combinations in the CS-Cart admin panel.

Also, a number of small changes and bug fixes were made. See the full changelog for the complete list of changes.

Add-on Upgrade

If you are a Twigmo 2.3 or above user, you will receive a notification about the available add-on upgrade in your CS-Cart admin panel. You can start the upgrade from the Twigmo add-on settings page; the rest is done automatically.

To upgrade the Twigmo add-on from version 2.2 or earlier, follow the manual upgrade guide.

Twigmo 2.5: Speed Boost and More

By Konstantin Molchanov (CS-Cart team), Tuesday, June 18th, 2013 in News and announcements, Twigmo releases

Hi,

Today, the Twigmo team is happy to announce the new version of the CS-Cart mobile-friendly kit—Twigmo 2.5.

This is a maintenance release introducing some polishing and optimization, as well as a few new features.

We have improved the Twigmo mobile front-end in two ways: price modifiers are now shown near product options, and customers can now set their own product price right in the mobile store:

Twigmo 2.5: Price Modifier & User-Defined Price

Additionally, user device recognition has been improved. It now takes much less time to recognize a user device, and the common CS-Cart logs are no longer crammed with HTTP requests.

See the full changelog for the complete list of changes.

Add-on Upgrade

If you are a Twigmo 2.3 or 2.4 user, you will receive a notification about the available add-on upgrade in your CS-Cart admin panel. You can start the upgrade from the Twigmo add-on settings page; the rest is done automatically.

To upgrade the Twigmo add-on from version 2.2 or earlier, follow the manual upgrade guide.
