CS-Cart 4.0.2: Store Import, CDN Support, and More

CS-Cart 4.0.2: Store Import, CDN Support, and More - CS-Cart Blog

Hello,

Today we introduce the long-awaited CS-Cart 4.0.2 and Multi-Vendor 4.0.2 releases.

For a minor release, it has lots of new features, apart from the regular polishing and improvements.

Here are some of the great new features available in version 4.0.2 (see the full list in the changelog):

  • Store Import tool
  • Widget mode
  • CDN support
  • Fluid storefront layout out of the box
  • On-site text translation
  • UK cookie law support

Let me talk in detail about some of them.

Store Import

CS-Cart 2.2.4, 2.2.5, and 3.0.x users now have the opportunity to import the data from their stores to CS-Cart 4.0.2.

The Store Import add-on in CS-Cart 4.0.2 can transfer orders, users, products, settings, and other data from CS-Cart 3.0.x and 2.2.4/5. Since the storefront skin has been significantly reworked in CS-Cart 4, the skins from the previous CS-Cart versions cannot be imported via this add-on.

We know that our clients have been waiting for this feature since the CS-Cart 4.0.1 release, and it is a great pleasure for us to present it to you now.

Widget Mode (Beta)

A CS-Cart-based online store can now be easily embedded into any web page. Just copy a few lines of the JavaScript widget code from a CS-Cart admin panel (it’s under the menu Design → Layouts) and paste it directly into your web page’s HTML source code.

Take your CS-Cart store with you, anywhere: to your blog, personal site, or company web page.

Please note that some websites don’t allow external JavaScript files, so the CS-Cart widget will not work on such sites.

CDN Support

CS-Cart 4.0.2 allows you to use the Amazon CloudFront CDN to store your static content, like images, CSS stylesheets, and JavaScript files.

Content-delivery network (CDN) is a very useful technology that makes for faster content loading and better reliability. With this technology at hand, a CS-Cart 4.0.2 store loads faster because the CDN servers located all around the globe are closer to customer.

Active upgrade subscription holders (check the subscription statuses of your licenses in your Help Desk account) will be able to upgrade their CS-Cart 4.0.1 stores directly from the admin panel during the following 2 weeks.

CS-Cart 4.0.2 has a lot to offer, and we are very proud of it. There will be more posts explaining the features of this release in this blog, so stay tuned!
